Sage Initiative Partnerships and Pilots

We have brokered a historic partnership between Los Angeles Unified School District and the University of California, Office of the President to help bring our transformative climate education into classrooms in the second biggest school district in the United States with over 164,000 high schoolers. This means that over the next 5 years, The Sage Initiative has the potential of reframing how 500,000+ students understand and respond to climate change.

The program will be made available for the use of all educators in the district across grade levels and subjects.

We are hosting multiple educator development events to further this partnership and collaboration.

Through a partnership between Geffen Academy at UCLA and the University of California, Office of the President, we were able to bring the Sage Initiative into sophomore and seventh grade classes at Geffen Academy.

During the Spring of 2025, over 60 Geffen Sophomores participated in the first ever pilot of the Sage Initiative curriculum. Over the course of April, students watched each of the lectures and then had productive discussions about content, tying together previous knowledge and new information learned in the videos.
